Data protection
Privacy policy
Updated on 13 May 2026
This website is deliberately minimal on the data side. No account, no form, no newsletter, no shopping cart, no advertising pixel. Here is what we know, and what we don't, when you visit us.
IWhat we don't collect
- No third-party advertising or analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
- No contact form stores your data: any exchange goes through your email client.
- No newsletter, no signup system, no user account.
- No personally identifying data (name, address, phone) is collected or transmitted.
IIAnonymous audience measurement
We use Plausible Analytics to understand which pages interest visitors (how many people, which pages, which language). Plausible is privacy-friendly by design:
- No cookies, nothing is stored on your device.
- No individual tracking Plausible does not create a user ID, does not follow you across sites, does not resell anything.
- Hosted in the European Union (Germany), no transfer outside the EU.
- GDPR, ePrivacy and CCPA compliant with no action required on your part.
- Documentation: plausible.io/data-policy
For this reason, this site shows no cookie banner, there is no cookie to accept, and this is consistent with the position of the French CNIL on strictly anonymous audience measurement tools.
IIIThird-party services
Some features require your browser to communicate with technical services. In each case, only your IP address is transmitted (a technical requirement of any network request), nothing else.
- OpenFreeMap (interactive map on Discover page)
- Free community service. No key, no cookies. openfreemap.org
- Open-Meteo (today's conditions)
- Free weather service. No key, no cookies. open-meteo.com/en/terms
- Cloudflare Pages (hosting)
- As with any website, the host keeps technical logs (date, IP, page requested) for network security. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
IVLocal storage in your browser
The site uses your browser's local storage and session storage for two technical preferences only:
- Language preference (
umercatellu.langBannerDismissed_*,umercatellu.manualLangChoice), so we don't re-show a language banner you've dismissed. - Map opt-in geolocation (
umercatellu.geoConsent, in session storage), only if you click "Show my location", cleared when you close the tab.
Both are exempt from prior consent (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act), being strictly necessary for an explicitly requested service. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser cache.
VYour rights
Since this site processes no personal data, the standard GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability) do not apply here. However, if you email us at tomasini1939@gmail.com, that exchange is regular correspondence and will be kept as long as needed to reply, then archived or deleted.
For any concern, please contact us at the same address. To file a complaint, the competent French authority is the CNIL , cnil.fr/en.
VIData Protection Officer
Given that no personal data is processed, U Mercatellu has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). This is not a legal requirement for our activity (Article 37 of the GDPR).
VIIChanges to this policy
This policy may change if we add a feature that involves a new processing activity (booking form, newsletter, etc.). The date at the top of this page indicates the last update.
